As I sit down to write, my heart is shattered by the weight of injustice. I am consumed by the anguish of countless women and children who are brutally exploited by the sex work industry and the abortion industry. The very thought of these twin evils is a festering wound that refuses to heal.
How many women, coerced and manipulated into the sex trade, are forced to undergo abortions to maintain their "value" to their oppressors? The very idea is a grotesque mockery of humanity. How many are pressured into abortions, without being fully informed of the risks and alternatives, simply to line the pockets of those who profit from their suffering? How many porn actresses, strippers, and prostitutes do you imagine get abortions? Do you think they are more or less likely than the average woman? A male rapist no longer has to worry about pregnancy being evidence of his crime. A woman who was hurt as a child doesn’t have to give birth to her own child and will often choose not to because of her own childhood trauma. Unwanted children are put into flawed foster and adoption systems, and because of the demand for child pornography and other abuses, these unwanted children are at great risk.
The problem is a paradigm. Persons brought into an unsafe and evil world, who don’t know God, will refuse to bring life into the world if they have the choice. Taking action on human exploitation not only saves lives but can also restore faith, which in turn will help to end the murder of the innocent and unknowable human baby.
The connection between these two industries is a malignant tumor that infects the very fabric of our society. Both thrive on the exploitation of vulnerable individuals, often using coercion, manipulation, and deception to achieve their goals. Women, in particular, are targeted and preyed upon, their bodies commodified and exploited for financial gain.
A world that does not value human life, that does not recognize the inherent worth and dignity of every individual, is a world that will continue to perpetuate these evils.
As a Christian, I am compelled to cry out against these injustices. I am called to be a voice for the voiceless, to stand up for those who are being exploited and oppressed. We must recognize that the fight against human exploitation and the fight against abortion are not separate issues but are intimately connected.
By uniting these two movements, we can bring strength and numbers to the fight against these twin evils. We can work towards creating a culture that values dignity, compassion, and the inherent worth of every human life.
If you are on the other side of this issue, I urge you, dear readers, to reconsider your position. Let us work together to create a world where women and children are protected, loved, and educated. A world where human life is valued and respected, from the womb to the tomb.
With tears and urgency,
Nico
